HIGHLAND, CA – Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel is celebrating 40 years with a summer-long anniversary celebration inspired by the year it first opened its doors. Officially marking the milestone on July 24, the celebration brings together collector car giveaways, collaborations with Paramount Pictures, Michelin-starred dining, rare spirits, nostalgic resort activations and a week of performances by leading musicians.
Over the past 40 years, Yaamava’ has grown from a bingo hall into one of Southern California’s largest gaming and entertainment destinations. The anniversary programming pairs references to the resort’s early years with elements of its current operations.
“As we celebrate 40 years of extraordinary experiences and hospitality at Yaamava’, we honor the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, whose vision, perseverance and enduring commitment have guided our evolution and laid the foundation for all that we are today,” said Kenji Hall, GM of Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel. “This summer showcases everything that defines the Yaamava’ experience – world-class entertainment, exceptional dining and unforgettable moments. It is a celebration of four decades of growth and innovation, made possible by the tribe’s leadership, the dedication of our team members and the loyalty of our guests, as we look ahead to an exciting future.”
Anniversary programming includes references to the culture and style of 1986, the year the property opened. In June, the resort partnered with Paramount Pictures on activities marking the 40th anniversary of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” including a Club Serrano drawing for a replica of Cameron Frye’s father’s Spyder Modena Convertible. A second Paramount partnership marking the 40th anniversary of “Pretty in Pink” is planned for later this year, with themed activities and giveaways.
Through July 24, Club Serrano members can qualify for a drawing for a 1987 Buick GNX. The grand prize will be presented by Los Angeles artist Mister Cartoon, who will unveil a mural created for the anniversary. The resort also features horticultural installations and seasonal displays referencing 1986, and select food items priced at 1986 prices.
On the dining side, The Pines Modern Steakhouse will host a $5,000 six-course dinner created by Michelin-starred chef Paul Liebrandt and Master Sommelier João Pires. Available for one month, the menu pairs dishes with selections from Collection 86, the resort’s collection of rare wines and spirits. A limited-time 40th Anniversary Cocktail made with spirits distilled during the 1980s is also available.
Yaamava’ Theater will host a week of performances leading up to the anniversary, with Eric Church performing July 19, Christina Aguilera on July 21, Imagine Dragons on July 23, and Snoop Dogg on July 24, the official 40th anniversary date.
