TACOMA, WA – Tim Reynon and Amber Hayward have been sworn in by Chairman Bill Sterud to begin three-year Tribal Council terms. Reynon and Hayward were elected in the Puyallup Tribal Council General Election on June 6.
Reynon previously served on Tribal Council from 2014-2020 and most recently worked as Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Indian Affairs. He also served as Tribal Relations Director for the City of Seattle’s Intergovernmental Relations Office.
This is Hayward’s first term. Before her election, she served for years as the tribe’s Language Program Director. Sterud will continue to serve as Chairman, and Anna Bean was elected Vice Chairwoman.
The ceremony began and ended with prayer and song. The venue – a large tent in front of Tribal Administration – will be the hub of the Puyallup Tribal Fan Zone during the tribe’s World Cup events in partnership with Pierce County and the City of Tacoma.
