After more than two decades in the making, North Fork Mono Casino opens in October in Central California. Developed by the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California and managed by Station Casinos, the $725 million project broke ground in September 2024 on land that was a blank slate in a mature, diverse market. With guest experience at the forefront, the design team rethought the floor plan to create opportunities for meaningful moments and memorable visits.
The property’s location is central to its identity. Situated directly adjacent to Highway 99, it places the casino at the crossroads of some of California’s most traveled routes. Its strategic location positions Madera as a new destination for guests traveling from Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento, the Bay Area, and communities throughout the Central Valley – while also putting the city within easy reach of new visitors, businesses, and opportunities.
The new casino features a 100,000 sq. ft. gaming floor with over 2,400 slots and 40 table games. From the moment guests arrive, dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows at the entrances fill the space with natural light, creating an open, welcoming atmosphere unlike the traditional casino environment.
Guests will find one of the region’s most diverse gaming selections, featuring everything from the newest, in-demand slot themes to beloved classic favorites, ensuring there is something for every style of player. The high-limit room offers an exclusive and intimate gaming experience, complete with its own private bar and dedicated cashier for added convenience and personalized service.
Dining and social spaces extend that approach beyond the gaming floor, with concepts ranging from the property’s flagship steakhouse and sports bar to fast-casual dining and several gathering spots.
Leading the dining lineup, Manzanita Steakhouse showcases the best of Central California through a menu rooted in locally sourced ingredients, premium hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, seasonal produce, and chef-driven specialties. Complementing the menu is an extensive wine program featuring more than 250 local and international selections curated by a master sommelier. The steakhouse takes its name from the California manzanita, a native plant known for its striking red bark, sculptural beauty, and resilience. Those qualities inspire the dining experience, where exceptional ingredients, fire-grilled craftsmanship, live music, and warm hospitality come together in an elevated setting.
For a more casual setting, Clubhouse 99 is a game-day destination featuring 56 large-screen TVs, more than 20 local and imported beers on tap, and a lineup of elevated comfort food favorites. Designed for championship games, rivalry matchups, and watch parties, the venue combines large-format screens, food and beverage offerings, and full-service hospitality in an energetic setting.
Elsewhere, the Food Hall brings six fast-casual concepts together in one location. Guests can explore Cafe Asia, a vibrant quick-service destination offering bold flavors and comforting Asian favorites; Chick Republic, serving crispy chicken ranging from hand-breaded tenders and wings to signature sandwiches; Smash Stack Burger, featuring premium ingredients, seared smash burgers, and a selection of sides; and Pizza Fiore, serving artisanal Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pizzas crafted with Italian ingredients. The Food Hall is also home to Fuego Mexican Kitchen, a Fresno-born Mexican restaurant expanding with its second location and serving the dishes that have made it a local favorite.
Rounding out the Food Hall, Kopiah serves freshly brewed coffee, handcrafted teas, and an assortment of pastries, providing guests with a convenient option throughout the day. The property’s bar concepts also draw inspiration from North Fork and its natural surroundings. Located in the heart of the casino, Whiskey Falls features rich copper tones, granite textures, warm woods, and inviting finishes inspired by the natural beauty of North Fork. Guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails, a robust selection of whiskeys, and a curated lineup of wines, beers, and spirits in an atmosphere designed to be both refined and approachable.
Rock Creek and Willow Creek, meanwhile, take their names from scenic waterways near North Fork. Just as those creeks have long served as places to meet, relax, and connect, the venues provide places for guests to come together over draft beers, premium cocktails, and daily drink specials.
Great design and memorable experiences are at the heart of North Fork Mono Casino. Yet, according to General Manager Mark Ward, the property’s greatest achievement is its people.
