ATMORE, AL – The Poarch Creek Indians will launch a new multimedia campaign, “Growing Home,” during the SEC Alabama vs. Georgia football game this Saturday. Filmed at multiple locations across Alabama, the campaign highlights the tribe’s diverse business holdings, the jobs they have created and the employees and families behind them. “Growing Home” also focuses on Alabama as a place to live and work.

“We are so proud to have created economic development in Alabama’s small towns and in cities, as well,” said Poarch Creek Indians Tribal Chair and CEO Stephanie Bryan. “For us, it’s important to provide jobs that allow our young people to stay at home and build a great life, just as generations before them have done.”

The Poarch Creek Indians built, own and operate three Four-Diamond resorts in Alabama under their Wind Creek brand. In 2018, the tribe began diversifying its business holdings and today owns a wide spectrum of enterprises across the state. Collectively, those businesses generate more than 4,000 jobs, the vast majority of which are held by non-tribal members.

“We believe that the more people understand Alabama has a top-notch workforce and is business-friendly, the more we can attract great companies to put down roots here and keep our state competitive,” said Poarch Creek Tribal Council Member Arthur Mothershed, who also serves as Chief Growth Officer for Wind Creek Hospitality.

The campaign provides a window into the workings of a wide spectrum of the tribe’s businesses. Those features include farming, meat processing, skilled manufacturing, land and wildlife management, shipbuilding, businesses that support the military and the space program, and hospitality and tourism.

“Our tribal home is in a rural part of Alabama, and we lived for many years in poverty,” said Chair Bryan. “We know first-hand how successful businesses can bring in real economic development. It’s important for us as a people to create jobs that support communities, and we hope that this campaign will encourage other businesses to make investments in Alabama and its hard-working, wonderful people. “
