PENDLETON, OR – Wildhorse Resort & Casino, owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, has announced the dates of this summer’s Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic. The tournament will take place Aug. 21–23, with a week of events beginning Monday, Aug. 17, focused on growing the game in the region.
The tournament’s return marks five consecutive years of partnership between Wildhorse Resort & Casino and the Epson Tour. Last year, Erika Hara emerged from a crowded leaderboard in the final round on Sunday to win at 18 under par. The victory proved pivotal, as Hara was among 15 players who earned LPGA Tour membership through the season-long points race. In total, 12 of those 15 players competed in last year’s Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic, underscoring the tournament’s competitive strength and draw.
“In our fifth year of hosting and welcoming the Epson Tour athletes to our tribal lands, our employees and sponsors look forward to making this our best edition of the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic,” said Gary E. George, CEO, Wildhorse Resort & Casino. “As we grow the game for our region and beyond, we see this golf tournament as an important contributor to the local economy.”
Critical to the event’s success, sponsors and partners continue to see value in the opportunities a professional sporting event provides in Eastern Oregon. Last year, the tournament secured 54 sponsorships from partners, leveraging business and networking opportunities, including two Pro-Am tournaments.
The tournament is played over three days, with an expected field of more than 140 golf professionals playing 18 holes per round. Two youth clinics, featuring golf instruction from Epson Tour professionals, will also return the week of the tournament; final details and registration to follow.
