UNCASVILLE, CT – Mohegan has promoted Kristi Hanney to VP, Deputy General Counsel. In her new role, Hanney will assist in overseeing the administration and operation of Mohegan’s legal department, supporting strategic legal and business initiatives across Mohegan’s portfolio.

Hanney joined Mohegan in 2022 as Senior Corporate Counsel and has played a key role in important transactions and strategic initiatives, including the successful strengthening of Mohegan’s balance sheet in 2025, the sale of the Connecticut Sun, and the restructuring of Mohegan’s digital businesses, while supporting corporate governance, finance, compliance, and international matters.
As VP, Deputy General Counsel, Hanney will oversee legal operations, entity management, litigation, finance and development initiatives, budgeting and administration, and will lead corporate governance, contract negotiations, and compliance efforts across Mohegan’s operations.
Prior to joining Mohegan, Hanney owned and operated the Law Office of Kristi A. Hanney, a Connecticut-based legal practice. Earlier in her career, she served as a partner at Louden Caisse Hanney and held positions with several respected law firms throughout the state. Hanney has earned numerous professional honors, including recognition as a Connecticut Super Lawyer and the Lawyer of the Year Award.
