Brian Decorah of Gun Lake Casino Resort Appointed to MI Travel Commission

WAYLAND, MI – Brian Decorah, SVP and GM of Gun Lake Casino Resort’s, has been appointed to the Michigan Travel Commission. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed Decorah to a four-year term beginning August 21, 2026.

“It’s an honor to be appointed to the Michigan Travel Commission by Governor Whitmer,” said Decorah. “This is a great opportunity to contribute to the growth of our state’s tourism, recreation and hospitality industries, not just for Gun Lake Casino Resort, but all of West Michigan.”

Decorah was appointed to the Commission “as an individual with experience in travel, tourism and recreation industry.” The appointment is reflective of Decorah’s 30 years in the gaming industry in which he has managed casino, hotel-resort properties.

The Travel Commission was established to promote, maintain, and support the orderly growth of Michigan’s tourism industry. The commission assists the Michigan Travel Bureau in developing a comprehensive long-range plan, reviews the bureau’s activities and accomplishments each year, and works with private associations, nonprofit organizations, and other entities that promote tourism in the state.
