IOWA, LA – The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana will host the grand opening of its new Feather Fuel Travel Plaza in Iowa, LA, with a celebration scheduled for Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will bring together local leaders, representatives from Coushatta Casino Resort and members of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana for a ribbon cutting, tribal blessing and remarks from tribal leadership.
Located on an 11-acre site at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Highway 165 (Exit 44), the 14,000-square-foot Feather Fuel Travel Plaza features 24 gas pumps, seven dedicated diesel fueling lanes, fresh food selections and a drive-thru. Fueling options include diesel and ethanol-free fuel, with a dedicated truck pad designed to accommodate larger commercial vehicles.
“We’re proud to open Feather Fuel and bring another Coushatta-owned business to the community,” said Coushatta Tribal Chairman David Sickey. “This project represents opportunity for our people, our employees, and the communities around us. We’re excited to be part of the Iowa community and to provide a new destination for both local residents and travelers along this important corridor.”
Inside, the travel plaza offers pizza, fountain drinks, fresh coffee, snacks, beverages, personal essentials and a selection of beer, wine, spirits and tobacco products. Additional fresh food options will be added in the near future.
Designed by QK4 and Worth Group, Feather Fuel incorporates elements of the Coushatta Tribe’s cultural heritage through bronze accents, tribal motifs and the tribe’s signature colors. The expansion of the Feather Fuel brand supports the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana’s efforts to foster regional economic growth and community development.
