LAWTON, OK – The Tribal Leadership Council Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Crystal Miller to the Tribal Leadership Foundation Committee.
The Tribal Leadership Foundation serves as the charitable arm of the Tribal Leadership Council, with a mission to support education and professional development opportunities for future tribal leaders. The foundation is responsible for administering and issuing scholarships as funding becomes available, helping empower individuals dedicated to serving their tribal communities.
Miller, an enrolled member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe, currently serves as the Head of Policy and Government Relations for the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy and is the CEO and Founder of Sovereignty First Native Consulting Firm. She brings extensive expertise in tribal policy, clean energy, and governance, along with a strong commitment to advancing opportunities for Indigenous communities through education, empowerment, and sustainability. An advocate for the protection and expansion of tribal sovereignty, Miller has drafted and reformed multiple tribal constitutions to strengthen self-determination and embed sovereignty-based governance principles within tribal nations, and works closely with members of Congress to advance policies that uphold and expand tribal sovereignty at the federal level.
“The Tribal Leadership Foundation plays a vital role in investing in the next generation of tribal leaders,” said Justin Barrett, President & Co-Founder of the Tribal Leadership Council. “Dr. Miller’s leadership and experience in policy and advocacy will be an invaluable asset to the foundation’s mission and its ongoing efforts to create meaningful opportunities.”
