ELK GROVE, CA – Wilton Rancheria and Sky River Casino jointly presented a supplemental regional roadway contribution of $1,070,000 to the City of Elk Grove. The contribution will support critical transportation and infrastructure projects in Elk Grove and fulfill a key component of the agreement between the sovereign Wilton Rancheria and the City of Elk Grove to support infrastructure needs resulting from the tribe’s development.

“Working in partnership with the City of Elk Grove, we have a shared and mutually beneficial goal to enhance and uplift the city with much-needed infrastructure improvements to support growth and expansion,” said Michael J. Facenda, Sky River Casino President. “We are proud to deliver this supplemental contribution that is an incredible example of how businesses and entities should give back the communities they serve.”

The contribution highlights the collaborative and continued commitment to regional infrastructure, as outlined in the agreements that provide funding for crucial roadway and community improvements in the Elk Grove area.

“When we built Sky River Casino, our vision extended beyond our own community,” said Chairman Jesus Tarango of the Wilton Rancheria. “We understood the responsibility that comes with growth, and we made a commitment to support the infrastructure that connects and strengthens Elk Grove. We’re honored to work alongside the city to ensure that as our tribe grows, the entire community benefits.”

The contribution is earmarked for critical, next-phase roadway and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance regional traffic flow, public safety, and long-term infrastructure health as the casino expands. The funds will be allocated to projects such as the following:

  • Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Implementation: Funding for transportation technology to dynamically manage traffic signals and optimize flow on previously widened and improved major arterials, such as Kammerer Road and Grant Line Road.
  • Preventative Roadway Maintenance: Dedicated funds for accelerated preventative maintenance and pavement preservation on key regional connector routes impacted by increased regional usage.
  • Future Capacity Project Reserves: Contributing to the City of Elk Grove’s capital improvement reserves to ensure funding is available for any necessary future expansions or new phases of projects as the city continues to grow.

Construction is well underway and is currently in Phase 2 of the expansion project at Sky River. In the near future, the casino will expand its gaming floor; add an additional high-limit room; and build a 300-room state-of-the-art hotel spa, outdoor pool, and meeting, event, and entertainment space. As an architectural highlight, a dramatic hotel atrium ceiling will allow for breathtaking views of the sky above – one of many features that pay tribute to the tribe’s close connection to nature. The expansion plan is scheduled for completion in 2027.

“The cooperation between the city, Wilton Rancheria, and Sky River Casino continues to provide tangible benefits to our residents,” said Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen. “The significant funding will help us accelerate projects that directly improve the daily lives of commuters and reinforce our commitment to safe, accessible infrastructure across Elk Grove.”
