RECENT PROJECTS: Cuningham is working with the Spokane Tribe of Indians to design and implement a comprehensive economic development master plan that includes the existing casino, a hotel, convention center, dining, entertainment center, and a cultural center on their 145-acre site near Spokane, WA on U.S. Highway 2.
Central to this plan is an expansion to the tribe’s casino and the creation of a new, 176-key hotel. With over 20,000 sq. ft. of new gaming space, the tribe is adding slot machines and table games. In addition to a new sportsbook, the design adds a new entertainment space called Spokane Live, new entry with a striking porte-cochere, a dedicated poker room, and new dining venues.
Cuningham worked with the tribe to bring meaningful elements of their rich history into the design. For example, the brightly colored pattern carpet represents the importance of water and salmon to the tribe’s ancestors. The emphasis on culturally relevant design extends to the new hotel, where the building’s façade visually represents the tule grass that the tribe has historically used in weaving projects. Currently under construction, the hotel includes an indoor pool, outdoor courtyard area with flexible event space, and inviting landscaping water features.
Cuningham’s recent work with other tribal clients extends throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, including work for the Ione Band of Miwok Indians, Colville Confederated Tribes, Squaxin Island Tribe, and the Nez Perce Tribe.

G2E SHOWCASE: In the gaming world, casinos and their customers want fast, reliable, electronic access to their funds. For over 24 years, Ditronics has been providing cash access services meeting those needs and changing the way services have been historically provided to better serve the customer. Ditronics was the first to do away with negotiable paper instruments for cash advances requiring the casino to deposit these paper checks by replacing the paper instrument with electronic deposits in their bank account. The same was true when Ditronics replaced paper personal checks with photo ID’s to cash a check and ACH deposits to the casino’s account. Their innovative, user-friendly cash access software gives gaming locations what they are looking for in these times of rapidly changing technologies. Today, everyone is talking about cashless solutions although few products meet the criterion – a product should be frictionless to the customer while providing value. Well ahead of the times, Ditronics introduced in 2008 a simple digital wallet that benefited the gaming location without requiring the customer to go through several unnecessary steps to receive their gaming funds.
Ditronics will display several new and enhanced products including a cash dispenser interfaced with the major casino management systems and integrated with its cash access services to automate casino cage cashier operations – speeding up transactions, reducing shrinkage and speeding up cash draw preparation and reconciliation, both improving customer service while saving FTE’s. The Cash Link system redeems tickets, pays out transactions in cash, tickets, or a combination of both, captures data from other applications to payout and can serve as jackpot pay station. Other new products include two ticket redemption kiosks designed to handle the highest volumes to relatively low volume needs. These multi-function kiosks support ATM transactions, charitable gaming, cash advance, check cashing and jackpot payouts, and dispense cash or tickets depending on the patron’s preference.
GameTime Wallet is another one of Ditronics’ new products that is funding online gaming sites today and is integral to Ditronics’ cashless solution strategy for brick-and-mortar casinos. GameTime Wallet is a mobile banking application adapted to gaming but retaining all the functionality outside the casino expected of a mobile banking application such as free money transfers between wallet holders, and earning interest on cash, to mention just a couple features. Foxwoods Resort Casino recently refreshed their property by re-selecting custom Alto table game stools. Previously installed in their Stargazer High Limit room in 2020, the alluring Alto can now be found at table games throughout the entire casino. The Alto at Foxwoods features two custom powder coat finishes – a request to complement fixtures around the main floor.

G2E SHOWCASE: At the 2023 G2E conference, Veridocs will be showcasing its Evolution platform. This streamlined, scalable platform delivers real-time results to casino staff to help minimize the risk of fraud and fines. The quick, easy-to-interpret results increase speed and accuracy at front-end scanning stations and behind the scenes. Veridocs will be providing demonstrations at their booth. Conference attendees can also see how the software is integrated into kiosks at the Everi booth.
The Evolution platform integrates Veridocs’ three core technologies: TrueAuthentication, TrueListCheck, and TrueListReview. TrueAuthentication retrieves and verifies data from all readable components on the ID and verifies the wide array of security features unique to a particular ID document. Veridocs’ list-checking technologies, TrueListCheck and TrueListReview, feature the most frequently and reliably updated watch lists in the industry. TrueListCheck reviews a patron’s ID against numerous watch lists in real time. TrueListReview lets casinos monitor watch lists, third-part lists, and customer lists for continued compliance – scheduled or on demand.
RECENT PROJECTS: Veridocs has enhanced tribal properties including Emerald Queen, WarHorse, Desert Diamond, and The Palms, by helping to protect the whole casino from fraud.
