MIAMI, FL – Miccosukee Casino & Resort has partnered with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to support emergency relief efforts for families and communities impacted by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.
As part of the initiative, Miccosukee Casino & Resort is serving as a public donation drop-off site and contributing $5,000 through its team member-supported MICCO Cares Fund. The effort reflects the MICCO Way, a commitment to caring for people, taking action, and supporting communities in times of urgent need.
“Our hearts are with the people of Venezuela,” said Brad Rhines, President and GM of Miccosukee Casino & Resort. “Through the MICCO Way, we believe in showing compassion through action. We are proud to partner with GEM to help deliver meaningful relief where it is needed most.”
The community response has been powerful, with concerned residents arriving at Miccosukee Casino & Resort to deliver trucks filled with relief supplies, including nearly 1,000 boxes of essential items, crutches, walkers, and other critical support materials.
Members of the public who wish to donate may drop off items at the resort front desk, open 24/7. Requested items include canned foods, new tents, sleeping bags, blankets, work gloves, work boots, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, shampoo, and socks. Please note that GEM does not accept donations of over-the-counter medication.
Donations will support GEM’s efforts to sort, prepare, transport, and distribute critical aid to those affected in Venezuela.
