Sky River’s Steakhouse Earns Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence

ELK GROVE, CA – SR Prime Steakhouse at Sky River Casino has received Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence.

The recognition places SR Prime among the more than 4,000 restaurants worldwide that hold the award. The restaurant’s wine list features more than 170 selections drawn from Northern California regions including Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Paso Robles, Mendocino County, and Lodi, along with international producers from France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The dining room includes dual temperature-controlled glass wine displays.

The wine list is paired with a menu featuring seafood, pastas, and steaks including Creekstone Farms porterhouse, Painted Hills cuts, and Wagyu selections. By-the-glass options are available alongside bottles from producers such as Opus One, Dominus, Silver Oak, and Château Montelena.

To mark the recognition, SR Prime is featuring several wines from its list: the Vincent Girardin Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Rouge 2017, described as pairing with grilled meats and artisanal cheeses; the Nickel & Nickel John C. Sullenger Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, with dark cassis and black cherry notes; the Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022; and the Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, noted for its aging potential.
