BEAUMONT, CA – The Southern California PGA Junior Tour presented the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon with its coveted Club Award, recognizing its outstanding work to support, sustain and encourage junior golfers and Southern California’s PGA (SCPGA) Junior Tour.

“We can’t thank the Morongo Golf Club enough for their tremendous efforts, including hosting many junior events on their beautiful course,” said Kevin Smith, SCPGA Junior Golf Director. “Our organization strives to foster values such as integrity, honor, and patience in youth players, knowing these attributes positively shape our members’ lives on and off the course. Tukwet Canyon shares those same values and really stood out to the Selection Committee as an excellent choice for our award.”

The Club Award was created in 1984 to acknowledge and thank clubs and organizations who have demonstrated continued outstanding support of junior golf and the SCPGA Junior Tour.

“The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is proud to support the mission and work of the SCPGA and the SCPGA Junior Tour,” said Morongo Tribal Chairman Charles Martin. “We deeply appreciate this recognition and are honored to support youth in the community through this incredible program and the opportunities it provides.”

With over 3,000 members and the host of nearly 300 tournaments each year, the SCPGA Junior Tour works with numerous facilities across the Southern California region. The Junior Tour boasts notable alumni including Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, Lizette Salas and Xander Schauffele.

“It’s an honor for the Morongo Golf Club to receive SCPGA’s Club Award,” said Henry Liaw, Morongo Golf Club’s Director of Golf. “At Tukwet Canyon, we work to preserve and advance the game we all love and to create learning and playing opportunities for junior golfers. This award is a wonderful validation of the success we’ve enjoyed toward this end.”
