WAYLAND, MI – Gun Lake Casino Resort (GLCR) is supporting the Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce’s 11th Annual West Michigan #JustSayThanks Law Enforcement Appreciation Campaign and Dinner. GLCR provided a financial contribution and will also donate food for the appreciation dinner.
Hosted annually by the Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce, the dinner is offered free of charge to active and retired law enforcement officers throughout West Michigan, along with their spouses, significant others, and children. The private event honors the service and dedication of local law enforcement while bringing the community together for an evening of food, fellowship, and recognition.
The annual campaign raises funds to express appreciation for the men and women who serve in law enforcement across West Michigan. For many attendees, the gathering also serves as a meaningful reunion, providing retired officers the opportunity to reconnect with lifelong colleagues and friends.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week. The Wayland Chamber’s annual campaign is scheduled in observance of National Police Week.
The annual dinner draws over 300 attendees from the West Michigan law enforcement community. Active and retired law enforcement officers receive gift cards to purchase items at local businesses and attendees are entered into drawings for large prizes including grills, smokers, coolers, pizza ovens, tools, catered meals and more.
GLCR’s donation this year qualifies as a “Chief Investment Level” at $2,500 or above. The casino made a financial contribution of $1,000 and will provide food and beverage for the dinner.
