Miwok Tribe Acquires Apple Mountain Golf Resort

Apple Mountain Golf Resort

CAMINO, CA – Apple Mountain Golf Resort, one of El Dorado County’s most recognizable recreational destinations, has been acquired by Acorn Enterprises, a Section 17 corporation wholly owned by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. The transaction, completed on Jan. 30, 2026, marks a significant milestone for the tribe’s expanding economic development portfolio and ushers in a new chapter for the celebrated foothill golf retreat.

Nestled in the heart of Apple Hill, Apple Mountain Golf Resort has long been regarded as one of Northern California’s most scenic and engaging golf experiences. The championship course winds through stands of pine, cedar, and madrone, offering dramatic elevation changes, abundant wildlife, and sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The property features an 18-hole championship course, practice facilities, a full-service golf shop, and the popular Apple Mountain Grille.

As part of the ownership transition, Acorn Enterprises has chosen to retain the vast majority of the resort’s existing personnel, ensuring operational stability, continuity of service, and the preservation of the strong relationships the resort has cultivated with its guests and the local community. Additionally, Acorn Enterprises has entered into a new partnership with Jeff Wilson of Wilson Golf Management, aimed at continuing the operational collaboration at Apple Mountain Golf Resort.

The acquisition aligns with the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians’ broader economic development strategy, which includes a focus on long-term sustainability and regional investment. Apple Mountain’s established operations, customer base, and existing management partnership with Wilson Golf Management position it as a complementary addition to Acorn Enterprises’ portfolio.

Acorn Enterprises, in addition to now owning Apple Mountain Golf Resort, oversees a growing portfolio of tribal economic investments in the Northern California region and holds an ownership role in Grinding Rock CPAs & Advisors, a Native-owned financial audit and advisory firm dedicated to strengthening financial stewardship for tribal governments and enterprises alike. Together, these diverse holdings reflect Acorn Enterprises’ commitment to creating sustainable, community-focused economic opportunities that support long-term growth for the tribe and the region.
