SANTA YNEZ, CA – Chumash Casino Resort opened its newly upgraded Higher Limits Room on Dec. 1, following a grand opening event that included VIP tours and a reception for guests.
The redesigned space nearly doubles the gaming footprint and introduces an elegant, contemporary atmosphere for guests seeking an elevated gaming experience. The expansion features 272 slot machines – up from 144 – and eight table games, including blackjack, Spanish 21, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and baccarat. Construction was completed in nine months, resulting in more than 11,000 sq. ft. of premium gaming space, up from about 6,000 sq. ft. previously.

“Many of our guests have been with us from the beginning,” said Mike Lopez, Vice Chairman for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. “We’ve grown from a tent to this remarkable facility, and the new Higher Limits Room demonstrates the tribe’s commitment to reinvesting in our property and providing our players with an elevated gaming experience.”
New slot themes on popular games include IGT classics such as Wolf Run, White Orchid and Coyote Moon, now reimagined in a modern design, plus new reel games and a new Buffalo Run addition. A dedicated video poker section, previously outside on the main floor, was relocated inside the new room. The makeover also features upgraded materials and finishes, including metal and laminate tabletops for greater durability and a more refined look, newly designed tables and new chairs. Elegant, custom interior touches include a mosaic floor, glass walls and decorative elements sourced from Italy, the Czech Republic and Japan.

The Higher Limits Bar doubled its space and seating and now includes 12 bar-top slot units. A specialty cocktail list was crafted for the room, featuring drinks such as the Millionaire Margarita made with Don Julio 1942, a Manhattan made with Jack Daniels Sinatra Select and a champagne flight.
