Today, we honor the men and women who wore the uniform and those who continue to serve our country with pride. Indian Country has always answered this call. Long before we were recognized as citizens, our Native warriors stepped forward to defend this nation. They did so because service, sacrifice, and the protection of our people are at the core of who we are.
From the warriors of our grandparents’ generation to the Native servicemembers and Veterans serving today in every branch, we stand in deep gratitude. Their courage helped protect our homelands, secure opportunities for our families, and strengthen the future of our Nation.
Indian gaming thrives because of the strength of our Tribal governments. Tribal economic development allows us to invest in health services, community programs, cultural priorities, and Veteran support throughout Indian Country. We take pride that gaming dollars in many Tribal communities help fund Veterans’ housing, assistance programs, and recognition events, because our Veterans deserve more than just words. They deserve genuine support.
On behalf of the Indian Gaming Association, it is a privilege to honor all of our Veterans on this special day. We thank you for your service, respect your sacrifice, and remain dedicated to supporting our Native Veterans and all Veterans year-round, not just today.
To our Veterans, from all eras. We honor you. We remember you. We stand with you.
