COACHELLA, CA – The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians is donating 1,500 backpacks with school supplies to local communities throughout the Coachella and Morongo Valleys for the start of the upcoming school year. Donation locations have been selected with each location receiving 500 backpacks with school supplies inside. The Morongo Unified School District, and Coachella Valley Unified School District will additionally receive a half-palette of school supplies.
The donations support the local communities near the tribe’s reservation lands throughout the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin. These annual donations have become a cornerstone of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians’ commitment to education and investment in their local youth.
