WAYLAND, MI – Gun Lake Casino (GLC) recently held a turkey giveaway, which included a pledge to donate one turkey for every turkey that was given away at the casino. The annual giveaway was offered to GLC Rewards cardholders, and the West Michigan-based charity Kids’ Food Basket was the recipient of the matching donation. The organization chose the option to receive a monetary donation, and so GLC presented Kids’ Food Basket with a check in the amount of $15,000.

“We had a tremendous turnout at Gun Lake Casino that resulted in 1,500 Thanksgiving turkeys provided to our guests,” said Carter Pavey, GLC Vice President of Marketing. “We were equally thrilled to provide a $15,000 donation to West Michigan-based Kids’ Food Basket to help end childhood hunger in our communities.”

Kids’ Food Basket is a local non-profit organization that educates government officials and community leaders about childhood hunger, and the steps available for community leaders and organizations to contribute to collectively providing food to the underprivileged.

“This generous gift fuels our work to help ensure West Michigan kids are nourished and ready to thrive this holiday season and beyond,” said Nick Glaser, GLC Director of Philanthropy.
