COACHELLA, CA – Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians honored U.S. service men and women with a major celebration, “A Salute to Our Heroes,” at Coachella Crossroads, the outdoor event center adjacent to Spotlight 29 Casino. With over 8,000 in attendance, the crowd celebrated Veteran’s Day with a mountain skyscape while enjoying the music of DJ Du, MacKenzie Porter, and Granger Smith. The evening ended with a 90-minute set with the award-winning Blake Shelton, who gave a heartfelt performance and greeted veterans and active military service men and women in the audience.
In support of local and national veteran organizations, the celebration was also a charity fundraiser to help raise funds for several non-profits including USO (United Service Organizations), The Independence Fund, The Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation, Riverside County Deputy Sheriff Relief Fund, Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association, and CHP 11-99 Foundation.
