MARKSVILLE, LA – The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana will celebrate the official ribbon cutting for its new Tunica-Biloxi Rural Health Clinic on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. Located at 597 Tunica Drive West in Marksville, the clinic began serving patients earlier this year with a mission to provide accessible, high quality healthcare to the tribal community.

Currently, the clinic offers services to Tunica-Biloxi tribal citizens, their families, and Tunica-Biloxi government employees. Plans are in place to expand access in phases, beginning with Paragon Casino Resort employees and eventually the rest of the local community.

“This clinic represents another step toward ensuring our people have the resources they need to live healthier, fuller lives,” said Tunica-Biloxi Chairman Marshall Pierite. “It reflects our belief that strong healthcare is essential to a strong community, and it builds on our commitment to self-sufficiency, service and opportunity.”

Under the direction of Cameron Chase, Director of Healthcare for the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe, the Rural Health Clinic is designed to provide a range of primary care services while fostering a welcoming environment for patients. “Our goal is to meet people where they are, physically and culturally,” said Chase. “We are building a space that honors our traditions, addresses our needs and grows with the community we serve.”

The clinic also supports the tribe’s long-term vision for economic sustainability, serving as both a healthcare resource and a future source of revenue that can be reinvested into programs and services benefiting tribal citizens.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will bring together tribal leadership, healthcare staff, community members and local officials to mark the clinic’s official debut. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments and guided tours of the new clinic following the program.
