SIOUX CITY, IA – The Sioux City Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCRCVB), doing business as Explore Siouxland, has appointed Tom Teesdale, GM of WinnaVegas Casino Resort, to its Board of Directors.
Formed in September 2019, the Sioux City Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau represents the Siouxland region of Western Iowa, Southeast South Dakota, and Northeast Nebraska. The organization’s Board of Directors – comprising representatives from the hospitality industry, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, and at-large community members – guides strategy and oversight for Explore Siouxland’s staff and initiatives.
As the official destination marketing organization for the tri-state area, Explore Siouxland’s mission is to showcase the region’s communities for visitors and residents alike, highlighting the unique attractions, events, and experiences Siouxland has to offer.
“I’m beyond thrilled to welcome Tom to our Board of Directors,” said Tyler Daugherty, Executive Director of the Sioux City Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau. “His background and knowledge in the tourism industry will be invaluable as we continue to advance our goals for this wonderful region.”
Teesdale was appointed GM of WinnaVegas Casino Resort by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska in 2023. He brings more than 30 years of experience in casino operations, management, and marketing, having previously served as VP of marketing at ilani and Ameristar, as well as VP of marketing and VP of operations at Penn National Gaming.
“I’m honored to be involved with such an important organization for Siouxland,” said Teesdale. “Tourism plays a vital role in our regional economy, attracting both visitors and new business opportunities. I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to support the Winnebago Tribe as it expands its gaming operations with the upcoming WarHorse Casino South Sioux, with construction set to begin in 2026.”
