OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park opens Friday, Aug. 21, launching a 62-race date season that includes Oklahoma Derby Week festivities, Oklahoma Classics, and the return of Extreme Holiday Showdown. Remington Park is owned by Global Gaming Solutions, a Chickasaw Nation-owned entity. The season closes on Dec. 19 with the Springboard Mile, a key race for 2-year-olds looking for points in the race to the gate in the 2027 Kentucky Derby.
Thoroughbred Season features major stakes races in the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby and the $300,000 Springboard Mile. Overall, the 30 stakes races are worth an estimated $3.7 million.

Oklahoma Derby Week runs Sept. 21-27, leading up to Oklahoma Derby Day on Sunday, Sept. 27. The Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby attracts Thoroughbreds from around the country and is expected to include some 3-year-olds that competed on the Kentucky Derby trail earlier this year. Derby Week begins with the Riders Cup Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 21 at Lincoln Park Golf Course, the largest annual fundraiser for Remington Cares Charities. On Derby Day, the Oklahoma Derby Hat & Bowtie Contest runs from 4-6 p.m., with $3,600 in prizes across four categories. The Oklahoma Derby Day Wine Festival takes place from 3-7 p.m., featuring Oklahoma wineries, a charcuterie cup and lawn games. Admission is $40, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Remington Cares Charities.
Oklahoma Classics returns Friday, Oct. 16, with more than $1 million in purses for races exclusively featuring Oklahoma-bred Thoroughbreds.
The Extreme Holiday Showdown takes place Saturday, Nov. 21, with holiday characters including the Grinch, Buddy the Elf, Cousin Eddie and Santa Claus competing between live Thoroughbred races. The event also features adoptable dogs, a jockey foot race, holiday treats, participating Remington Cares Charities and a Merry Market with local vendors. Activities begin at 3 p.m., followed by Thoroughbred racing at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
During the 2026 Thoroughbred season, racing begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, with Wednesday racing added beginning Oct. 14. Special race times include the Oklahoma Derby at 3 p.m. on Sept. 27, Oklahoma Classics at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, and the Springboard Mile at 5 p.m. on Dec. 19.
Located in Oklahoma City’s Adventure District, the property offers live and simulcast racing along with casino gaming.
