OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) has announced its 19th Annual Red Feather Gala and fundraising event to be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at the Omni Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. Funds raised at the formal event will provide the gift of hearing to those in need.

OKCIC refers an average of 100 patients for hearing services annually. Unfortunately, insurance typically does not cover the cost for hearing aids, and many patients cannot afford the out-of-pocket expense. The opportunity to provide these services locally gives patients the medical equipment they need to live a successful life.

“An estimated 48 million people in the United States live with hearing loss and American Indian adults are disproportionately affected compared to their white counterparts,” said Robyn Sunday-Allen, OKCIC’s CEO. “Through the Red Feather Gala, the clinic aims to eliminate these challenges facing the Native community and give the gift of hearing to patients in need.”

The event will include traditional American Indian dancing from the Central Plains Dancers and a live paint exhibition by Larry Carter. Auction items include American Indian art, jewelry and autographed sports memorabilia.
