Morongo’s Cielo Steakhouse Receives Three Prestigious National Awards

CABAZON, CA – An extensive selection of wines, exquisite cuisine and exemplary service have brought three national honors to Cielo, the acclaimed steakhouse perched atop the 27-story Morongo Casino Resort & Spa.

For the eighth year in a row, Wine Spectator has bestowed Cielo with its Restaurant Award of Excellence as part of its 2022 dining guide. The national honor recognizes restaurants with excellent wine lists and menu selections that pair outstanding wines with distinctive fare.

The Wine Spectator announcement comes weeks after Cielo earned a AAA Four-Diamond rating for the 12th consecutive year. The annual distinction is awarded to less than 5 percent of the more than 32,000 AAA-inspected and approved restaurants across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Cielo also was named as a Top 10 Palm Springs-area steakhouse by Gayot in 2022 and was recognized by OpenTable Diner’s Choice awards for its scenic views, special occasion meals and romantic dining.

“Morongo is thrilled to be honored by the Wine Spectator, AAA, and Gayot for our extraordinary wine programs, cuisine and service,” said Richard St. Jean, Morongo’s Chief Operating Officer. “The ongoing collaborations by Cielo’s world-class sommelier, Executive Chef Jerome O’Reggio, and our expert staff continue to create world-class experiences and exquisite menu offerings that exceed our guests’ expectations.”

Cielo’s carefully selected wine list features boutique vintners from Napa Valley to the Pacific coasts of North and South America and Australia. Notable vintners on the list include Sassicaia, Opus One, Silver Oak and Caymus.
