BANNING, CA – The Morongo Band of Mission Indians has presented the non-profit Banning High School (BHS) Boosters Club with a $50,000 contribution to support local athletics. The funds from Morongo will specifically assist the boosters in purchasing sports equipment for high school athletes.
“Morongo is delighted to be supporting the BHS Boosters as high school athletics play a pivotal role in building character and teaching teamwork, discipline, and perseverance to local student athletes,” said Morongo Tirbal Chairman Charles Martin. “These programs help shape young people into responsible and resilient adults, fostering a sense of community.”
Angelica Lyons, the treasurer of the Banning High School Boosters, thanked Morongo for the donation, which will support numerous athletic teams at the high school.
“We deeply appreciate the generosity of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and the tribe’s commitment to local high school sports and student athletes,” said Lyons. “The ongoing support from Morongo and our community partners allows our local youth to pursue their interests as they gain important skills and lifelong friendships.”
Over the past decade, Morongo has given over $20 million to support local and regional non-profit organizations that help seniors, families, veterans, youth and those in need.
