Harrah’s Resort SoCal Participates in Giving Tuesday

FUNNER, CA – Harrah’s Resort Southern California marked Giving Tuesday with a volunteer effort supporting non-profit organizations across the San Diego region. Each year, nearly 140 team members take part in community service projects that support a range of local organizations.

“The Rincon Tribe is honored to support Harrah’s Resort Southern California’s Giving Tuesday initiatives each and every year,” said Rincon Tribal Chairman Steve Stallings. “We are proud to offer a helping hand to our neighbors and communities throughout the San Diego region, and this annual tradition of giving reflects the gratitude we carry and our continued commitment to paying that generosity forward.”

Throughout the day, volunteers contributed their time and talent through several hands-on activities across eight organizations, including:

  • USS Midway – Volunteers will assist with ship cleanup and exhibit maintenance aboard the historic USS Midway.
  • Hashtag Lunchbag – Beginning on property, team members will pack lunches that will be delivered to Rincon Fire Station and Interfaith Community Services.
  • Helen Woodward Animal Center – Volunteers will support the Education Department, assist at the Orphan Objects ReSale Shop, and participate in the AniMeals Program.
  • Canine Companions for Independence – Team members will learn about the organization’s mission and support rotations including exercising dogs in professional training, deep-cleaning client suites, and completing campus beautification projects.
  • Feeding San Diego – Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks within the organization’s distribution center.
  • North County LGBTQ Center – Team members will create centerpieces and gift baskets, assist with holiday décor, assemble hygiene kits, wrap gifts, and support ongoing event preparations.
  • Blood Drive for San Diego Blood Bank – Held on property, team members will have the opportunity to donate blood to the San Diego Blood Bank, continuing the resort’s quarterly blood drive initiative.
  • Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation – Volunteers will support habitat refurbishment for Tortie the Sulcata Tortoise, including building habitat fencing, constructing a weatherproof sleeping box, planting eco-friendly vegetation, and creating enrichment elements that mimic natural environments. In this season of giving, Harrah’s Resort Southern California encourages all San Diegans to join in the Giving Tuesday spirit by contributing time, resources, or support to local causes that uplift the community.
