LINCOLN CITY, OR – Mae Wheelwright has joined the executive management team at Chinook Winds Casino Resort as their Director of Human Resources. Before joining Chinook Winds, Wheelwright held the position of Human Resources Manager for the Washington Department of Corrections. She also worked for 18 years in the Human Resources Department at Lucky Eagle Casino, adding to her extensive experience within the Native American gaming industry. She has more than 30 years of experience in Human Resources, having worked in healthcare, manufacturing, corrections, and hospitality/gaming industries.
“One of my goals is to continue to build a Human Resources culture with heart where we strive every day to provide a safe, caring HR that is fair and respected,” said Wheelwright.
Under Wheelwright’s leadership, the Human Resources Department has already made many improvements in recruiting and team member communication. Harold Baugus, General Manager of Chinook Winds Casino Resort, believes that her wide-ranging experience will enhance the executive team. “Her broad background brings depth to the team that will enhance our current plans for team member development, retention, and recruitment,” said Baugus.
