Andrew Cardno of QCI To Speak at NCAI’s Convention & Marketplace

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Andrew Cardno of Quick Custom Intelligence (QCI) will be a featured speaker at the National Congress of American Indians’ (NCAI) 80th Annual Convention & Marketplace in New Orleans, LA, on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023.

Cardno will be addressing recent hacking events at commercial and tribal casinos. He will join experts Victor Rocha, Conference Chair of the Indian Gaming Association, and Renita DiStefano, President & CEO of Second Derivative, to provide insights on the pressing issues. The session aims to delve into the intricacies of two recent high-profile cyberattacks targeting prominent casinos – Caesars and MGM Resorts. Both of the attacks were executed by a notorious ransomware gang, making it an urgent concern for the gaming industry.

During the session, Cardno and fellow panelists will conduct a detailed comparative analysis of the attacks. They will shed light on various aspects, including the tactics employed by the cyber criminals, impact on the operations of the affected casinos, differing responses by the two companies, and the significance of the incidents for Indian Country.
