TUCSON, AZ – Casino Del Sol illuminated its signature dome in teal on Monday, November 3, in support of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) and its annual worldwide “Light the World in Teal” awareness campaign. The illumination is a visible show of support for the AFA and its nationwide awareness campaign and support for the millions of people living with Alzheimer’s disease, their families and caregivers.
“Casino Del Sol is proud to stand with AFA and with families across Southern Arizona,” said Amanda Lomayesva, Casino Del Sol’s Interim CEO.
During Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, AFA invites landmarks, businesses, and individuals across the globe to “go teal” to help shine a spotlight on Alzheimer’s disease. Community members participated by wearing teal on November 3, turning porch or office lights teal, or updating social media profile images in teal. AFA also maintains a list of participating landmarks and additional ways to get involved on its official event website. The effort raises visibility for Alzheimer’s disease, honors those impacted, and connects communities to education and support resources.
