EL CAJON, CA – Sycuan Casino Resort has donated $10,000 to The Animal Pad during the Padres at the Pool event at Retreat Pool & Cabanas. The event brought together Padres fans, Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove, along with other current and alumni Padres players, the Swinging Friar and the Pad Squad for a poolside event that celebrated The Animal Pad.

“Sycuan is honored to contribute $10,000 for their life saving mission,” said Sycuan Tribal Chairman Cody Martinez. “All donations are used for the care, transport, medical needs and foster or adoption placement of the rescued dogs.”

During the event, Chairman Martinez expressed his support for The Animal Pad’s mission. He also presented the donation to the non-profit during a check presentation, helping the non-profit continue their mission.

“Being able to be grateful for the amount of support we’ve had come from [Sycuan Casino Resort and Musgrove], and the community has been so awesome,” said Lauren Botticelli, Executive Director at The Animal Pad.

Musgrove also shared his story of how The Animal Pad helped him find the right dog, Theo, for himself and his family while expressing his gratitude towards the non-profit.

“The Animal Pad was able to secure and line us up with a dog of our own, Theo,” said Musgrove. “He’s changed our lives and we’re very grateful for you guys and the work that you do to create that opportunity.”

The event also included a meet-and-greet with Musgrove and other current and alumni Padres players, allowing attendees to pose for a complimentary professional photo.
