SOUTH BEND, IN – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians and its Four Winds Casinos provided the media with a tour to view the progress of construction at Four Winds South Bend. The expansion of Four Winds South Bend will include 317 hotel rooms featuring 83 suites. The gaming floor is being expanded and there will also be a spa, convention area with a ballroom and meeting space, a cafe, an outdoor swimming pool, and terraces with spectacular views. The expansion of Four Winds South Bend has created 350 construction jobs with 10 percent being Native American preference, and will create an additional 350 to 400 new jobs at the casino resort once construction is complete in the first quarter of 2023.

As part of the tour, Scott Rice, General Manager of Four Wind South Bend, highlighted the expansion of the gaming floor, which is more than 45,000 sq. ft. and will include 850 slot machines, 11 table games, a new high limit area and an additional cage and cashier area

The tour then proceeded to the second floor of the hotel where Mary Smith, SVP of Hotel Operations for Four Winds Casinos, announced details for the newly named Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center, which is a 24,000 sq. ft. multi-use facility. The name Ribbon Town comes from the Pokagon Band’s reference to a portion of its homeland in the State of Indiana, which is now called South Bend. Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center has 16 meeting rooms, a ballroom with seating for 600, two pre-function bar areas, a business center, and outdoor pre-function space. In addition to hosting large meetings, conferences, banquets and special events, Ribbon Town will accommodate concerts and live performances.

“We are very pleased with the collective efforts of our Four Winds team members, our project manager, construction contractors, job site employees and vendors as we work towards completing the expansion of Four Winds South Bend,” said Frank Freedman, COO of Four Winds Casinos. “The expanded resort will offer amenities and an entertainment experience that is not currently available in South Bend and Northwest Indiana. We encourage those who are interested in reserving space for 2023 in our new Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center, to do so as early as possible.”
