The final installment, “Building Innovative Care Facilities. Carrying Heritage Forward.,” will highlight investments in healthcare and care facilities serving tribal citizens.

“Native American Heritage Month is an opportunity to honor our ancestors, celebrate our centuries-old traditions, and pause to reflect on how our Tribe has been able to move forward after surviving generations of real hardship,” said Stephanie Bryan, Poarch Creek Indians Tribal Chair & CEO. “Our Poarch history guides the work we are doing now to create opportunities, improve the quality of life for our tribal citizens, and protect and preserve our natural resources. I believe that an enduring commitment to strengthening our community will ensure our heritage will be carried forward by future generations.”

The Poarch Creek Indians are the only federally recognized tribe in Alabama. The November series will explore the Tribe’s history and values while highlighting contemporary initiatives in education, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship and healthcare.
