WASHINGTON, D.C. – Indian Gaming Association Chairman David Z. Bean will testify before the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture’s Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development during a congressional hearing examining customer protections and market integrity in sports event prediction markets.
Chairman Bean will present the perspectives of tribal governments and the Indian Gaming Association on the expansion of sports event prediction markets and the significant concerns these markets pose for tribal gaming, state-regulated gaming, consumer protections, and the integrity of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
The hearing comes as tribal governments across Indian Country continue to advocate for congressional action to ensure that sports and casino-style gambling conducted through commodity markets does not circumvent established federal and tribal gaming laws.
The hearing, titled “Examining Customer Protections and Market Integrity in Sports Event Prediction Markets,” will be held on July 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EDT at 1300 Longworth House Office Building in Washington, D.C.
