CHANDLER, AZ – Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass, Lone Butte, and Vee Quiva will start accepting applications from Arizona nonprofits for its self-excluded jackpot funds beginning June 1, 2021. The deadline to apply will be June 30, 2021, at 5 p.m.

Self-excluded jackpot funds are accumulated when a winner is ineligible to receive his/her jackpot prize on table games, slot machines or bingo. Gila River verifies that the individual is able to claim their jackpot prize based on a pre-existing list of rules, regulations and behaviors.

All Arizona 501-C3 nonprofit organizations that are recognized by the IRS and that enhance the lives of Arizonans through educational programs and children’s welfare will be eligible for consideration to receive the self-excluded jackpot funds. Selected applicants and the total available funds will be finalized by the end of October, and recipients will be honored during a special Gila River Cares event at the end of the year.

“Year after year, self-excluded jackpot funds help generate meaningful change in our state through our nonprofit recipients,” said Teaya Vicente, Gila River Hotels & Casinos Public Relations Manager. “We are eager to support the outstanding work nonprofits do to improve the lives of Arizonans, especially after a difficult year, and hope this funding opportunity will help aid organizations that have been adversely affected by the pandemic.”

Last year, more than $76,000 was distributed across three nonprofits including Pawsitive Friendships, Child Crisis Arizona and Miracle League Arizona.
