PHOENIX, AZ –Â The Arizona Department of Gaming has launched a first-ever statewide Public Education Campaign focused on protecting consumers, promoting public awareness, and reducing the harms associated with unregulated gambling.
Arizona offers a variety of legal, regulated gaming options throughout the state, including tribal casinos, event wagering, fantasy sports, and parimutuel wagering. The campaign is designed to inform and empower the public by emphasizing the risks of engaging with unlicensed operators and providing them with tools to identify legal, regulated options. It aims to reduce consumer vulnerability, prevent exploitation, and help individuals make informed decisions if they choose to participate in gaming activities.
The new campaign features public service announcements, created with the Arizona Media Association, airing across TV, radio, print, and digital platforms in English and Spanish. The PSAs explain how to identify legal gaming operators, outline consumer protections, highlight gaming’s role in supporting communities, and promote the 24/7 problem gambling helpline, 1-800-NEXT STEP.
Supporting the campaign is the Check Your Bet webpage, which offers tools to verify regulated gaming and access consumer protections. It includes interactive maps of authorized Tribal Casinos, licensed event wagering and fantasy sports operators, and other permitted gaming venues; resources for problem gambling assistance; information on voluntary self-exclusion; and guidance for reporting illegal gambling or filing consumer complaints.
