Five Chickasaw Nation Officials Sworn Into Office

ADA, OK – Five Chickasaw Nation officials were sworn into office Oct. 1 at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center, including four legislators and one tribal Supreme Court justice. Chickasaw Nation Supreme Court Chief Justice Linda English Weeks administered the oath of office.

Legislators J. Lisa Impson of Ada, Karen Goodnight of Goldsby, Connie Barker of Marietta and Dusk Monetathchi of Sulphur reaffirmed the oath of office. Impson will continue to represent Pontotoc District Seat 3, Goodnight Pontotoc District Seat 4, Barker Pickens District Seat 2 and Monetathchi Tishomingo District Seat 3.

Supreme Court Justice Cheri Bellefeuille-Gordon of Sulphur also reaffirmed the oath of office for Seat 3 on the Chickasaw Nation Supreme Court.

Chickasaw Nation legislators and Supreme Court justices serve three-year terms. The Legislature consists of 13 members elected from the Panola, Pickens, Pontotoc and Tishomingo districts, while the Supreme Court consists of three justices elected by Chickasaw citizens.
