Golf Course Overview
In 2005, Mystic Lake Hotel Casino in Prior Lake, Minnesota will unveil its spectacular new course, The Meadows at Mystic Lake. The par 72, 18-hole course will be spread over 160 acres and feature scenery and amenities reminiscent of Pebble Beach and other well-revered, tournament courses. Although the course is set to open in June of 2005, it might not be fully opened its first season to allow the grass to mature.
Measuring 7,100 yards, The Meadows will have five sets of tee boxes to accommodate golfers of varying abilities. Hole 18 alone will measure 580 yards. The layout will include 80 sand traps to challenge guests, and 13 of the holes will have water features. The course will have bentgrass fairways, greens and tees and the landscape will include not only the relocation of existing trees, but also the addition of new ones. A 2,000-foot long limestone water feature with several waterfalls will also add to the course's scenery.
Paved golf cart paths will run throughout the course, which, in addition to the 100% irrigation system, will greatly preserve the grass. Five weather shelters will shield golfers from sudden or continuing downpours and spread out tee times will help maintain a more relaxed pace of play. A driving range will be included as well as short game practice facilities. The clubhouse, which will be nestled against the hotel, is slated to open in 2006.
